How Much Time New Concrete Takes To Settle

Concrete is a mixture of stone, sand, and water that has been mixed and hardened over time. It’s used in a variety of applications from patios to driveways and even building foundations. The concrete curing process can take anywhere from one week to several months depending on the type being used and how much time it needs for drying before use.

New concrete needs up to 12 months to settle and hence is not advisable to use any ice melt in bulk on concrete. This period can vary depending on the size of the project and other factors. For example, concrete will take longer to cure if it’s thicker than 8 inches (20 cm) or exposed to freezing temperatures.

And even after 12 months, you should avoid Salt and chloride-based ice melts and use a natural urea-based product to mitigate the chances of corrosion and cracks on your concrete.
